My Journey in the Hair and Beauty Industry
I’m Deborah Blignaut, a hair expert and master hair colourist with over 30 years of experience in the professional hair industry.
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with leading brands and educating hairdressers around the world, deepening my understanding of hair, colour, and how the right style can enhance a woman’s natural features.
Today I offer a calm and personalised hair experience through my Quietly Confident Women Home Salon in Theale, Berkshire, where appointments are unhurried and every service is thoughtfully tailored to the individual woman.
Why I Created a Home Salon
I didn’t start my home salon because I wanted something smaller.
I started it because life changed.
After hitting rock bottom through loss, and through the quiet upheaval of Covid, something in me shifted. I began building my coaching and mentoring work alongside my hair career, and I knew I needed a different way of working.
A space that felt calmer. More personal. More grounded.
Creating a home salon allowed me to keep doing the work I love, hair, colour, and helping women feel beautiful, while also making room for the deeper work of self image and reconnection that was growing inside Quietly Confident Women.
It became a place where appointments could be unhurried, conversations could be real, and a woman could feel gently held as she returned to herself.
Hair Is Never Just Hair
Over the years I’ve come to understand that hair is rarely just about style.
It’s often connected to how a woman feels about herself.
The way she sees her reflection.
The way she carries herself.
The quiet relationship she has with her own image.
After working with women for more than three decades, I’ve learned that the right colour or cut isn’t about chasing trends.
It’s about recognising the individual woman.
Her features.
Her colouring.
Her personality.
Her way of moving through the world.
When those elements come together, the result feels natural and effortless.
And something shifts.
Not because she has changed.
But because she feels more at home in herself.
